Who Is God?

Holiness defines God because evil cannot exist in the presence of Holiness, and God IS that presence - He IS that Holiness. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He can't change. "God is Holy" is not just a flattering personality trait - it defines Him.

He upsets the traditions of men, confuses even the most hardcore theologies, and confounds those people who think they are educated and have all the answers. He considers the traditions of men to be foolish because we allow them to become little gods in our life. He uses what wise men consider to be foolish and takes those foolish things and turns them into great testimonies of who He is so that men who think they know it all can't take the credit.

He can do anything, but chooses to withhold His judgments in order to grant to us free will. He is merciful, loving, tender, and compassionate, yet, He is jealous and doesn't want His children to be worshipping dumb idols. He has his anger stored up for those who are evil, and will do justice in His perfect timing. God is this and more.

I'd rather have this primitive view of God and believe in who He is as a whole, perfect God, than to sift who God is through the eyes of tradition, and theology, or education. What I have learned of God is from more than just scripture. It comes from a real relationship with a living, perfect God who understands all there is to know about the past, present, and future. When I am in a place that I don't have a clue what I should do, there is a God, via Jesus, who DOES have a clue.
